Setting your CPD objectives

Planning your CPD will help you to ensure you identify relevant learning. Consider your development needs and how you can meet them, and create an action plan.

You must try to avoid finding yourself to complete all your activities at the end of the year since you run the risk the seminars which you could be interested in to be fully booked.

In an effort to identify your objectives for the forthcoming period you should consider a number of factors:

  • What areas you should develop so as to respond more adequately to your job needs?
  • What are the technical and business skills you will need?
  • Do you expect any changes to take place which will affect your role?
  • What do you expect to be the main business environment issues which could affect you?

Answering the above questions will help you to make a plan on how to achieve the CPD objectives you have set.
