FFM Foundations in Financial Management

The syllabus introduces students to different ways of managing finance within an organisation with the aim of enhancing business performance. This includes planning and controlling of cash flow in both the short and long term, how to manage capital investment decisions and managing trade credit for an efficient flow of cash.

  • Explain and apply the principles of working capital management
  • Apply a range of accounting techniques used to forecast cash within the organization
  • Describe methods and procedures for managing cash balances
  • Explain principles in making medium to long term financing decisions
  • Explain and apply principles in making capital investment decisions
  • Describe credit management methods and procedures.

 

Examination structure

  • The examination comprises of two sections. Section A is made up of 10 compulsory multiple choice questions (of 1, 2, and 3 marks) and Section B of 6 compulsory questions (of 10, 15 and 20 marks).
  • It is assessed by 2 hour paper based examination.
  • The pass mark is 50%
