Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching 1 Introduction to networks

  • 9 February 2018 12:32

We live in an increasingly connected world, creating a global economy and a growing need for technical skills. The focus of this course is on learning the fundamentals of networking. In this course, delegates will learn both the practical and conceptual skills that build the foundation for understanding basic networking. They will become familiar with the various network devices, network addressing schemes and, finally, the types of media used to carry data across the network.

In this course, you will gain experience using networking utilities and tools, such as Packet Tracer and Wireshark®, to explore networking protocols and concepts. These tools will help you develop an understanding of how data flows in a network. A special "model Internet" is also used to provide a test environment where a range of network services and data can be observed and analysed.

Note that unlike courses offered online, CISCO Academy requires students and instructors to have in-person access to equipment as well as virtual access to the curriculum.

Certification: The CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum prepares delegates for the Cisco CCNA® network associate certification exam. CCNA is the industry standard, foundational certification for networking careers.

Cost: This program is subsidized by the HRDA. Eligible organizations will only pay the net fee of €140 (plus VAT on the original amount). Examination cost is not included in the fees.
